As some of you have noticed, we’ve been doing quite a bit of work on the crafting databases in the last week or so. Our intent is to:
* Add some diversity to crafting careers by allowing characters to build their own pattern databases
* Merge similar careers to get rid of the annoying problem of not being able to find characters of certain skillsets
General crafting career updates
We have went through the majority of databases and redistributed items according to level. Each level has been (or will be) assigned 4 craftable items. For many careers, especially seamstress, this leaves a lot of leftover items. These items can still be learned IG via pattern and this patterns will be discoverable in-game in places we feel are appropriate. Some may be easy to find, some may be findable by quest reward, or sold in lesser known/traveled locations. It will be up to you to explore and find them. We will make an announcement once all patterns have been released into the game world.
One last important thing to note is that for existing crafters, we have given you all the patterns available at your career level. So if you are a level 10 tailor, you will know all the patterns available to up to level 10. Then once you learn level 11, you will gain 4 new items and then will have to find the level 11 patterns in-game to learn the rest.
@craft has been updated to reflect newly distributed items including what items are only learnable with a pattern (and also if you already know it).
Patterns will be actual in-game objects that can be studied at the cost of 55 learning points.
This footwear bears a round toe and extends to just above the ankle where a thong or strap is used to attach it securely to the wearer.
The notes indicate that this item is crafted from shoes.
To study this pattern:
Studying your pair of latchet shoes pattern will cost you 55 learning points. Do you want to continue?
Type @YES or @NO to respond to this question.
Studying will last for 30 minutes and will only successfully complete if the pattern is in hand. Logging out will not cancel the lesson.
Once the pattern is learned, you can proceed to craft the item as normal. You do NOT need to be holding the pattern to craft the item. At some point we will offer pattern folders to make it easier to organize your collection. You cannot teach a learned pattern to another PC but you can share your pattern if you want.
Seamstress and tailor updates
Seamstress and tailor have been merged into one seamstress career. For those with career levels in both, you have been refunded learning points for your levels in tailoring (+10%). Those learning points were then applied to the seamstress career up to the max level of 24. Any remaining learning points are yours to keep and you have the option to trade those learning points in for levels in another career. Just @assist with your request.
Existing seamstresses will get to keep all their seamstress patterns up to their level, and existing tailors will get to keep their tailor patterns up to their level. For example, a character who has learned seamstress to level 20 and 0 levels in tailor will have access to all seamstress patterns up to level 20, but will not have access to any additional tailor patterns. A character who is level 20 in seamstress and level 20 in tailor will become a level 24 seamstress and have access to all the seamstress and tailor patterns up to level 20.
Weaponsmith and armorsmith updates
Weaponsmith and armorsmith have been merged into the blacksmith career. This has been handled the same way as the seamstress and tailor merger.
At this point, the jeweler career is the only career we have left to work on. Once that is complete, we will work on distributing the patterns in the game world. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the progress. Also know that we don’t plan on taking anything away without announcing it so if you think something might be missing unintentionally, please assist.
